Mully Children's Foundation Fundraiser - November 28th
A night of jazz standards with Nick Apivor is accompanist. Some of my favorite torch songs. "Moody's Mood", "Lush Life", "When Sunny Gets Blue" "Wave" "Take Five" [a version with cool lyrics]. Bringing out the tuxedos and satin gloves.
Falconetti's - November 25th
Falconetti's - October 14th
Had a cool rehearsal with some new grooves. Elliot is adding some electronica to the drums. It's a whole other level of vibe. We took this New York style groove that we are remixing with God Bless The Child appropriately renamed God Bless The Style.
Four Stories of art and performance [and a pretty nice cocktail party too]
Show director, David Williamson, invited me to do the transition between the art and performance art presentations and the full on night club. This called for, what else..........The return of the Disco Diva in the Hot Pink Peep Toe Platform Pumps. Ooh La La. I got to bust out Donna Summer & Vicki Sue Robinson.
Vancouver Entertainment Television
We shot some fantastic footage of The Soul Sistahs at The Kozmik Zoo Wednesday, September 14th. As Venue Coordinator for VanLiveMusic I was really able to come through for the girls. After selling about 150 tickets, the girls discovered mid-afternoon, on show day, that the club where they were going to perform had it's liquor license pulled. I was able to give them the hookup with Ammar at Kozmik Zoo who, in turn, canceled the comedy night to accommodate the girls. Boy was he ever a happy man. The girls delivered. The place was packed. The entertainment was joyously good. Ronnie recorded the night. Every one was happy [except the comedy night people - how ironic]
VANCOUVER LIVE MUSIC PRESENTS
Beach City Live Concert Series
Back in May, I got fed up with the griping about the seeming lack of small live music venues in Vancouver. Plus, I perceived a lack of vision and general cheapness when it came to supporting live music. So not being one to sit and complain, I befriended an upcoming artist management intern, Jacob Pasterfield, and joined forces with my web diva Christina Szokendi to form Vancouver Live Music. We found vibrant support of live music in many new venues. But part of the problem seemed to be that if you were not within the friendly radius of the restaurant, you wouldn't know the wonderful things that are going on. We also realized that visitors to the city were missing out on some intimate opportunities to experience live music locally. We want the site to be a reference tool for going out to non- club venues for both visitors and locals. We also want our participation to encourage many venues currently relying on big screen tvs and canned music from head office to consider adding live entertainment to their packages - a plus for musicians. Everybody wins. Here is what our evolution is looking like.
....Vancouver Live Music has created a website www.vancouverlivemusic.ca that is dedicated to provide information to visitors and locals about places that feature live music in our beautiful beach city. To launch this local initiative, we have created the Beach City Live Concert Series .
Beach City Live invites you to be part of a very NEW concert series One that's driven by the city's restaurants and performance venues that feature great live music. Starting in August, Beach City Live aims to tempt visitors and locals alike to enjoy great food served up with terrific music. Let the sounds of summer fill our ears.
Vancouver Live Music merges local artists with live music venues including clubs, restaurants and lounges. Locals and tourists alike will be exposed to establishments and live acts previously unknown to them.
Beach City Live is cool because it has evolved into a year round opportunity to showcase all different venues that feature live music. Stay tuned for the October launch our "Month Of Sundays" Concert Series. This one's for the places that feature music on Sunday Nights or Sunday Brunches.

Falconetti's - September 9th
We are going to shake it down at Falconetti's. On board this time around are the two bald gentlemen: Nick Apivor on keys and vibes, Elliot Polsky on drums, with Carlos Arias joining us on bass. It is also the launch of Vancouver Entertainment Television. We have lovely Selena "La Vida Lohan" being our sidewalk mistress of ceremonies for VETV's preview trailer
The Kozmik Zoo - August 18th
Footage of night coming soon!
2011 Pride Festival Opening Night
This picture was lifted from a video of my performance at this year's Pride Opening Night. I wish the resolution were better. The theme was "Disco Divas Night". I couldn't resist. I dusted off some classic tracks: Donna Summer's On The Radio, Teena Marie's Turn The Beat Around, Sister Sledge's We Are Family. Sooo much fun to see and hear people singing along and dancing in the street on a hot summer night! This picture happened when we were singing We Are Family. The dancers were a spontaneous addition from a troupe that performed earlier. As I scrolled through the footage this was a magical moment when we all just burst into big beaming smiles as we performed. The night was helped out by the hot pink satin peep toe platforms also shown.
